I have put a new hard driv in my computer and windows wont run

Hi I connected the new hard drive a WD (SATA) 2T drive connected the power, started the computer and put in the windows vista recovery CD mirror image disc I had made and it loaded. I did not format the hard drive and windows will not run.

If you didn't format the drive then you can't have loaded Windows on it. It's just not possible. Windows formats the drive as part of the installation process. So what exactly happened when the "mirror disc" "loaded". What is a "mirror disc" and how did you load it? What error are you getting when you try to boot the computer from the hard disk.
I loaded the mirror Image of windows which I have saved on a set of disc's The computer starts to boot but I am getting a box with the message Install windows a red cross and Windows could not complete the instelation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation. I have re inserted the disc but nothing happens?
