i5 3560k vs i5 4670k

How much faster/more future proof is the 4670k compared to the 3560k both paired with a 7970 and both OC? Is it worth the $100 price difference If I can get a z77 mobo for $60 for the 3560k? While the 4670k mobo will cost about $100+ more.

Both cpus are $220 on amazon

PS: I would like to spend less money on better price/performance ratio parts since I'm a poor college student :/

the 4670k is about 5-10% better in most everything I've read. The 4670k is newer, so it would be a little more future-proof.....and the z87 mobos are definitely more future-proof than the z77's.

However, it's your call........it will be your machine and your dollars you will be spending....so get what you think suits your needs/wants best.
