Best Motherboard-300$ or so? I'm upgrading my 3-year old gaming comp, and I'm not sure about motherboards. My processed (I'd rather not get a new one) is the i7 930 Bloomfield quad core and I'd rather not get a new processor. I'm getting probably a radeon r9 280x
I'd like to have 8 or 12 gb ram. Thanks

If you want to stick with Intel, probably the best price/performance CPU now is the i5-4670k, or non-k if you don't want to overclock. Also there are loads of motherboards from Asus, Gigabyte, and others that support this processor. 8GB of DDR3-1600 should handle almost anything you want, the best brands being Crucial, G.Skill, Corsair, and maybe Kingston.

I'm not sure you would be able to find a new, non-server motherboard for the LGA1366. That's the catch with Intel, they like to change CPU sockets much more frequently than AMD. Like Deuce65 said, what are you trying to accomplish by upgrading motherboard and not CPU?

What would you recommend for a CPU-motherboard-ram?
