I'm looking to buy a graphic card that would allow me to max out all games coming out 2-20 years from now. Would the GTX 780ti allow me to do this? I don't mind upgrading 15 years from now but if it could last me up to 20 years even better.
Nothing will last you that long and I do mean nothing. Think about 15 years ago for a minute. It was the year 1998, the Pentium-II was the CPU to get and 64MB of RAM was considered massive with 1.02GB hard drives just about to come onto the market. Windows 98 was just released and most people were still using Windows 95. Today, the Pentium-II isn't even useable for anything and won't run 64-bit applications. In 20 years, the performance of the most powerful graphics card today would be outdone by the GPU in a smartphone (assuming we're not using cybernetic interfaces by then). Remember that 20 years is an absolute eternity in the tech industry and our advancements are speeding up exponentially. Buy what you need for the next 3-5 years and upgrade then.
