Hi, I've been wanting to build a computer for a while now, but I'd like a bit of help on what parts would be optimal for what I'd be using it for.

I generally make 20~60min long videos, shot in HD. They usually start off with an intro sequence of sorts, usually using After-Effects with many plug-ins, and Premiere Pro. The problem I have is, my current computer is extremely slow at rendering, such that a 10 second intro will take about 5 mins to render, in order to preview. I'm using an HP Pavilion, with an Intel i5 dual core, going at 2.9Ghz, and I'm willing to either build something new, or add parts that will make my life easier...

Thanks :D

It's something I do for my school in my spare time, so I suppose hobbyist. I usually have school for about 8 hours a day (including Saturdays!) so It'd be nice if I can get it done faster.
Budget....I'd say I'm pretty flexible, and I would prefer a balance of low-cost and efficiency...but for adding parts at say about $800, and building a whole new rig, I'd say $1500.

Whoa, that was quick, thanks a bunch. For some reason, every time I find the parts for a pc, Price is huge. This is great, thank you :D

No problem, I just updated the card in the second one though. The FirePro is a true rendering card so it will perform its best in those softwares. The GTX 780 will still be a very good option, good for gaming if you ever plan on it, cheaper, and still powerful for rendering. It's your choice ultimately.

Also, might I ask what the main difference is between a Graphics Card and a Video Card?
