Decent CPU, left $100 for OS of your choice
CPU would let you run about a 7870 level card in the future and has a great iGPU for now
128Gb SSD, with a 1TB HDD

Yeah issue is an dedicated card feels overkill

Here would be a full build
FX6300 is better than an i3 for most games, esperically as we transition more and more to quad-core usage
$30 gets you SATA 3 mb to utilize your SSD to the max

I leave out OS since they're going to be the same for every build

You end up about the same price, different but still good mb since its cheaper, used this mb before
You can OC the i5 3470 to 4ghz if you wish
but you get weaker graphics, no SSD but a stronger cpu

My opinion is both cards will do equally well since you're only on 768p
You should consider upgrading your screen though :)
CPU wise, I doubt there will be any significance difference in most games i5 > FX6300 > i3
SSD will be a lost, but you may or may not care about faster boot/load times
