So i'm wondering if I should go for the Quadro K600 or the GTX 650. I am quite on a tight budget for now and I mostly game on my PC but I am also starting to pick-up 3D modelling. I know that the Quadro cards are more towards complex 3D rendering, but dosen't that make it better for games?

My system specs are:

Intel i5-3330s (Not oc)
Stock motherboard
500w PSU
8 gigs of ram
1 TB hard drive
Gt 620 OEM (Decent overclock)

Solution
Quadro cards are specifically designed for CAD so your best bet is the 650. Plus you're just starting out so the 650 should handle all your models with no problems.

Quadros are worse for games than geforce because their drivers are not designed for games.

I might be expanding my budget and look at the GTX 670. I admit that I am a Nvidia fanboy, but I am open to AMD suggestions for price/performance point.
Also, i will need a new PSU as my cables have no 6/8pin adapter. Any cheap 80 plus unit reccomended?

Well, Nvidia has cuda which would give you a bit more flexibility in some applications, so you may stick to it.

I have seen the Quadro K6000 perform in maxed-out games with respectable frames, If I were to increase my budget, i would be looking at the GTX670 or the K2000. As my PSU doesn't have any 6/8pin adapters, is it more worth it to get a new PSU for the 670?

Quadros may perform decently in some games, but gaming videocards are likely to perform better. Plus, there is no guarantee that all games will play well with Quadros.
