8GB ram for Battlefield 4?

I purchased Battlefield 4 Today. But when I came to know that its ram recommendation is 8GB I decided not to play until i buy another 4GB stick.
I want to ask if 8GB ram would be utilized in the game or its just for doing multitasking..
I'm using Msi gtx 680 Lightning..

As far as I know BF4 uses about 5GB of RAM. So It would be a good choice to upgrade your PC to 8GB

how about a single stick of 2GB as price of ram here in india is so damm high!!!!!!!
its like around 38 dollars..

Definitely get a total of 8gb RAM. Even BF3 makes my computer use 4-5gb. 8GB is a definite must, but you can play the game in the meantime.
