I'm getting a new gaming computer (custom built) for Christmas. I chose the intel i5 3570k processor, and I'm thinking about a gtx 760 2gb ram from EVGA. As the mobo (motherboard) i chose the ASRock extreme 4. Is the Gpu good or do you guys have other
suggestions? Also, I have a 420W PSU but I have a feeling it's not enough. Do I need to buy a new one?

Solution

Why not. Then buy new corsair RM

New rosewill lightning 800w is much better *though*

Look jonnyguru review...

I actually searched around the house and found a 560W one; a POWER LC6560GP3

LC power is not known as a "good" PSU.
But if it works it do have enough wattage. I did not find any review of that psu so hard to tell is it good or not. Try and you will find out :)

True, but already the fact that it doesn't have so many reviews kind of surrounds me with darkness… I can risk it but I'd rather spend the money for a corsair…

Smaller ones Id look rosewill cappstone or superflower.
Gold units are good.

I'm also looking at this same build except with an MSI Z77-G41.

Any input on the benefits of one or the other? I mainly went with this one for the price and also the blue color scheme to match the vengeance RAM and case lights.

Also, I had picked out a Rosewill Hive 550W PSU. Will This be enough for the 760 keeping in mind that I will likely overclock the 3570k to around 4.2 GHz at some point.

Here's the full build I've been putting together:

Cappstone is better than Hive.

10 cheaper is non modular.

Then if this is too expensive look cheaper XFX or Seasonic.

This is bigger 750w but it do enable SLI in future. Good buy for this price.

My suggestion is LGA 1150 because it is new and better sound card in mobo + better all the way system (more sata ports) and stuff. They just are better. USB + Lan protection..

That XFX 750W looks like a good deal I might swap out the Hive 550W for that. I imagine the extra 200W will be worth having down the road for an extra $30 or so.

Also, will the MSI Z77A-G41 mobo be decent for overclocking? It's one of the cheapest ones around so I was a little concerned about that.

Oh! I'm sorry I didn't answer, but yes I have. It works very well, the GTX 760 gets all the power possible and the psu works very well. I have even over clocked it to 4.2 ghz with no problems!
One thing to note is that the psu comes with 2 6pin pci-e connectors plus 2 2pins. You can combine a two pin connector with a 6pin to get an 8pin.
Good luck!
