Hello,

I recently built my first computer and just installed my new graphics card. (AMD radeon HD 7970)
I put it in my case, turned the power on to check if it was working and it did.
Turned on my pc, uninstalled my old drivers, installed my new drivers, connected the DVI cable and restarted my pc. No luck.

I searched the interwebs but can't really find anything as I'm not too well informed on this. Any ideas what can cause this?
The only thing that showed up under my graphics devices was "standard VGA Graphics Adapter" after installing my new drivers.

Your sistem doesnt detect your GPU for fixing it simply try uninstaling all graphic drivers you have on pc. And in device manager scan for new hardware. If it dont help, reset your bios to default and reinstal sistem.

on newer pc with intel and amd cpu there can be a built in video card on the cpu. if there is one go into the bios make sure the first video device set to pci or peg and the video cable on the gpu. if there no output put the ipgpu drivers on the system then updated the mb chipset drives and the bios then reboot. if it not a bios issues check on the new gpu that both power plugs if there two are plugged in.

[strike]I tried all this, didn't work.
While at it, I tried connecting my computer with a HDMI cable to my TV to check if the problem didn't lie in the cable, but still no luck, so it really is my PC or GPU.
While in the device manager I noticed there was an unknown device registered under other devices. Could this be my GPU? And if so, how do I fix this? I have the drivers installed and it still doesn't work.

EDIT: never mind, I found out what the unknown device was, already fixed it. Still no luck on my GPU though.

Here's my setup, by the way.

Intel® Core™ i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz
ASRock B85M Pro4 Motherboard
8 GB RAM
and then there's the AMD Radeon HD 7970

I think I've tried everything you said but it's just not working.
