I'm building a second PC for my brother and I'm not sure what memory should I get. I've never tried using memories above 1600 and curious what those higher memories will do.

CPU - 4770k
Mobo - Asus Maximus Impact VI

Will my cpu perform better if I'll use memories above 1600?

Depends on what you do, if gaming prob not really, if you do apps that are memory centric (imaging, video, CAD, VMs, etc) then you can definitely notice, even more so with Haswell, as it scales performance to DRAM much better than previous generations of Intel CPUs, when I build for clients, we always start looking at 1866 and normally go up
