Hey guys so I bought a new Hp Envy M6 recently, core i7 with a 1 TB HD. However, its C drive only has about 40 mb remaining. I've tried deleting stuff but it doesn't work and all the file that are already in it are important or unknown to me. My E drive has around 900 GB free but with a full C drive it doesnt matter. Any help? Is it possible to increase the size of the C drive? And is that safe?

Solution
If E:\ is not a recovery drive, it has no important data, and was never used. Then go to disk management and remove the E:\ Partition. When it's done, it will say unallocated space with a black bar.
Right click on your C:\ and select extend volume. Set the desire size you want to extend, then click extend.
If you did not select the entire unallocated space, then you can create a new partition, on unallocated space.
Shrink volume won't work because When E is shrunk, the unallocated space go towards the right of the E:\.
C:\ will not be able to used that unallocated space because E:\ is blocking it.

control panel ->administrative tools->create and format had disk partitions

this will bring up disk management
I would right mouse click your large partition e: and select shrink Volume, reduce its space and
then select your other partition and select expand volume to add the space to the other volume and see if that works for you.

- you can also try to clean up hidden files, empty recycle bin, delete old OS updates, restore points, move your page file to another partition
things like that but give the first option a try first and see if it works for you.
