I built my first pc and when I launched it, everything started working, but then I saw a little burning dot on my motherboard, so I shut my system down but it was already burnt. Later I found that my CPU fan was in the "sysfan2" hole. I want to know if that is the reason my motherboard got fried, in case I am going to buy another one and can any of my other parts be damaged? My parts are:

AMD XFX Radeon HD7770 DD
Intel Pentium G2140
Whitenergy ATX 2.2 Power Supply (PSU) 500W 120mm BOX version
HDD SATA 500GB 7200RPM 3GB/S/ST500DM005 SEAGATE/SAMSUNG
8GB DDR3-1333 - PC3-10600 - CL9 Value Select PC Memory Module
Cooler Master K(night) 350
MSI H61M-P31 (G3), H61 (B3), DualDDR3-1333, 4xSATA2, DVI-D, GBLAN, mATX
some random cd/dvd drive

I highly doubt the fan did it. I would be very suspect of the PSU it seems to be a cheap low quality unit and those usually don't work out very well. It seems you just learned the important lesson of why you don't want to skimp on the power supply.
