Buying a new processor

Im currently running an AMD Athlon II x2 250, which sucks, honestly. I dont have the money for a new PC and don't want to throw money away on an amateur mistake of buying an incorrect component. So I ask what processor can I get that works with a Gigabyte M68MT-S2P motherboard and an AMD radeon HD 7800 graphics card. within a £200 budget, if my motherboard is also a bag o' crap can somebody recommend one that will be fine with my graphics card (which I love dearly)
 
it supports all phenom II cpu's so the best bang for buck would be a 960 but you will be hampered a little by the slower HT speed of the motherboard as its only an am3 borad not am3+ (thats assuming its the rev 3 model) from what i can find the cpu support is slightly lessened if you go down 1 or 2 revisions.
