Hello folks, i recently let a friend of mine borrow my optical drive for his new build and got it back the other day, after installing my new motherboard (Asus Maximus Hero) and cpu i7-4770K, i needed my optical drive back to get software for my new parts, i plugged it back in, i booted my pc up my pc and everything seemed fine until i noticed that my external hard-drive was not showing up (i diagnosed that by unplugging it from the power supply and plugging it back in) but when i did that it seemed the problems started, i went to put my asus mobo driver disk in and as soon as i opened the tray the optical drive vanished from my computer, thought nothing of it closed the tray but the disk wasn't being read, so i thought oh there must be a driver problem,i rebooted the computer, the drive came back up again, i installed the latest driver software, and the drivers that were on the disk i left in the drive, everything seemed okay until i went to install World In Conflict then all of a sudden when i opened the disk tray yet again it vanishes off my computer.. I've tried the regedit method of deleting the lower filter and higher filter but still not sorted it out :/ anyone else had the same problem and can diagnose it? it's doing my head in and would really appreciate any help
