Hello,

I'm looking to build a machine for the first time. I've selected the parts which I think best suits my needs. Please take a look at this and let me know if any optimizations needed or anythings that I might have overlooked.

These're my requirements / constraints / needs:
(1) Machine to learn and practice the technology that I'm working on. For this I'll need to set up a lab environment of 4-5 VMs of 3G RAM. I'd like this to be as future proof as possible under my budget.
(2) Case which is as small as possible as I relocate for work.(The number of times depends on the projects, so there is not a fixed number)
(3) Budget of $500.
(4) I've not dropped the thought of adding a video card as well, so that I can play some video games with my family during the winter. I'm not a hard core gamer.
(5) This will not be a "Always-ON" machine. I'm not into editing videos or images.
(6) Other Use: Connecting to the TV to watch Netflix or Youtube and play games if I buy the video card.

This is the configuration that I came up with: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1Wo9q . The final amount is coming under $450 so I can look for a decent video card.

CPU AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core $149.99
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ $49.99 (after rebate)
Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 $119.99
Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $59.98
Case Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower $44.99
Power Supply Corsair 430W ATX12V $19.99 (after rebate)

Please let me if I have missed any or overlooked something in this configuration. Also, please let me know if there is a better configuration than this.

Should I wait until thanksgiving or shall I go ahead and purchase these and start building the system? I have gone through multiple tutorials and I'm excited to try building the machine :)

Thank you for reviewing and providing suggestions.

I was thinking of going for under 100$ graphics card. Is that worth given the fact that I'll use it for light gaming. When I put that in the part list, the watt requirement didn't exceed the current 430Watt power supply in the list. Do you recommend changing it to a better power supply now itself?

Also, is this the best time to buy the components? Will there be any benefits of waiting till thankgiving for the prices to come down?
