Hello,

I am looking to build a new system,
Intel Core i7 3970X @ 3.5GHz [OCed]
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Corsair Hydro Series H100i, 240mm watercooling
Artic Silver 5 Thermo paste
Corsair Vengeance 64GB RAM
SanDisk 128GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Be Quiet! Pure Power CM L8 730W

I just need to choose a GPU, I can't decide between a singe R9 290X or two 280Xs.
If I need to upgrade the PSU I will.

I am also going to be using this PC for gaming, video editing and 3D rendering.

Thanks a lot
Jack

Well 2x280x will be mighty fast than the 290x. And you'll definitely need a beefier PSU for 280x CFX. Btw which 280x you're planning to buy?

I was planning on getting the Asus DirectCU II version.

Also will a 1200w PSU be good enough? And can you recommend some quiet ones? Since it's going to be as quiet as possible.

Cheers

Even a 1000W PSU would've been enough.

Anyways this is a 1250W PSU

Reports it had a bit noisy fan. Though good PSU for your build

And 1000W PSU

Silent and very good for your build

Right thanks very much.
I have added the 1000w PSU to my list
and I have also added a better motherboard (MSI BigBang-Xpower II). Plus two Asus R9280X-DC2-3GD5 's.

Which comes to a grand total of:
£2,052.74 / USD $3284.79.

Thank you very much for your help :)
