Hi I've got an asus m5a97 r2.0 and I haven't got my graphics card yet. I know that most of the 970 mobos don't support sli so does this mean amd gpus will perform better than a similar nvidia card? Thanks for your help!

Solution
Support for SLI/Crossfire have almost nothing to do with relative performance of cards made by nVidia or AMD. An AMD chipset will support any and all individual nVidia cards (with proper motherboard connections) even if the chipset itself doesn't support SLI.
