Installing drivers causes screen to go blank. If driver installs red artifacts and crashes (EVGA 760 SC w/ACX).

The card is user overclocked.

Windows reporting "Display Driver Failed. And has Recovered"

When in game it will "lock up" or crash

(Happens regardless if OC'd or not)

Solution

Ok, but whining noise could be voltage regulator circuitry. There's a lot of voltage regulator circuitry around a modern GPU. The amount of current drawn (and the voltage) can vary with the load on the GPU (especially the latest GPUs that wind down the cores when unloaded). Maybe the Nvidia is overvoltage card with new drivers...

We actually figured out it WAS the driver. But shortly after we fixed the issue, it developed REALLY BAD COIL WHINE!!. So it has been RMA'd
