Multiple HDD, prevent 1 from starting?

If I have multiple HDD's, can I boot my computer but not boot one of them?

Say I have 3 drives, 1 for OS, and 2 for storage, can I make 1 not start up?

Is this for power concerns? You could always just unplug whichever one you don't need.

No, just wondering if I can do that when the drive is full of crap I put on it and don't need it for awhile. Can I disable it from the BIOS?

It depends on your motherboard, but if you don't need to use it, just don't use it.

I was running as many as 6 hdds recently. I agree. If you don't want to use one, just don't use it.

Windows has an option to turn off idle hdds after a certain time but will still turn on at startup.
