Choosing between low price Lenovo
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y410p/
or
Better name MSI

At first sight the Lenovo is a much better deal, but I have had a really bad experience with Lenovo in terms of build quality and reliability. I have never owned an MSI, but to my understanding it is much more reliable, and has better resale value. does anyone know if this is true or not? Im not entirely sure, but I had one of Lenovos first gen i5 business laptops for work, and it was horrible, so have they changed at all?

Solution
Ah okay. I'm not sure if Lenovo quality is that bad, but if your not favoring them from previous issues than that is your option (your buying the laptop with your money). I do like the 15.6" size myself for the size and for the portability of the laptop, but that is just me.

$1,200 - $100 MIR = $1,100
MSI GE Series GE40 2OC-008US Intel Core i7 4702MQ(2.20GHz) 8GB Memory 750GB HDD 14.0" Notebook
* Lower resolution at 1600 x 900, but better GPU = a better gaming experience, IF you don't mind the resolution.

$1,200
MSI GE Series GE60 2OE-003US Intel Core i7 4700MQ(2.40GHz) 8GB Memory 750GB HDD 15.6" Notebook Win 8 Multi-language
* 1920 x 1080 resolution and better GPU nVidia 765m
Not sure on the reliability portion of your concerns, but the 2 laptops are in different price categories. One is at $700 and the other is at $1,200. Asus makes pretty good laptops too, so I'd check them out also. They tend to have a bit better warranty, from what I've read about.

I understand they are different price groups, but they still have similar specifications. im just wondering if that price gap compromises the Lenovos build quality. id rather spend a few hundred more on a computer that will last.
