Hi,

I'm planning to buy a MSI R9-280x. My current PSU is an Antec NeoEco 620W. We all know that the R9-280x requires a 8pin PCI-E and along with a 6pin PCI-E. The Antec has 1x 6pin PCI-E and 1x 6+2pin PCI-E on the same connector

The power supply connectors assortment is shown here : http://www.antec.com/pdf/flyers/NeoEco620C_flyer.pdf

Is it safe to plug both, the 6pin and the 6+2pin, comming from the same connector the the R9-280x? Should I only use the 6+2, leave the 6pin and replace it by a dual molex adoptor to 6 pin?

I've been searching for hours about this subject. Thank you in advance.

All right! Thank you for the fast answer. I was a bit worried about the fact that both, 6+2 and 6pin PCI-E, are on the same ''wire''. Plus, I was not to fond to use the dual molex to 6pin adapter.

Thank you again and sorry for the bad english

While doing some research, I ended up finding that a 8pin could supply 150W, while a 6pin could supply 75W. Since the 6+2pin and the 6pin are both on the same wire, I tought : I could use the 6+2pin for 150W, or 2x 6pin for 75W+75W also for 150W but not 2+6 and 6pins for 225W.

I'm probably wrong but I juste wanted to double check before buying the 280x.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
