Well, not exactly. You see, the main problem is that no GPU (that I'm aware of) is designed for external use. You'd need to buy an external chassis first. This company makes external chassis specifically for graphics card, but I have no idea of how efficient or effective they are:

And those are expensive, and again I have no knowledge of how it works other than that it exists. But anyway, that's at the very least $200, and then you need to buy a GPU for $100, which you can and you could get something decent, but there's a whole slew of other issues that could come with...

But anyway, that's at the very least $200, and then you need to buy a GPU for $100, which you can and you could get something decent, but there's a whole slew of other issues that could come with that including if your CPU was a bottleneck, or if the power supply you have was designed to output enough wattage to power it.

In short, there's no convenient way of doing it. But if you feel like doing a pet project and want to put more research into this than myself, then by all means go ahead and post your results here.
