Metro Last Light running 5 FPS on HD7950 (nevermind)

Never mind, don't read this. I overlooked the physics option. works great now.

I'm just hoping someone can clarify if my FPS is reasonable for my system or if their is something more I can do. My system is bottlenecked at my CPU, but so far it hasn't been much of a problem. Is the physics on Last Light really so much more intense that it's not playable with an older CPU? I just finished 2033 on high and there was only a couple of FPS dips that I barely noticed.

My system:
Phenomx4 9850 OC @ 2.75GHz (pre-FX)
4GB Ram DDR2 800
HD7950 @ 1100Ghz core, 1350Ghz Memory 3Gb

I turned every setting down/off as able. Running no other programs. res is 786. vsync off since I'm on a plasma. I've tried several combinations of settings and it doesn't even budge past 7 FPS. CPU Meter isn't showing my CPU pegged at 100%, though it's close, the core load just oscillates a lot.

Not sure if this low of a performance is reasonable or not. I know my GPU is just fine, but if I understand correctly the way the game was optimized the developers offloaded quite a bit of physics to the CPU. Just wanted to run it past the pro's here at Tom's see how you guys felt.

Thanks for the help.

Is that "physics" or "PHYSX"?

If it's PHYSX then it's designed to run on an NVidia card and forcing that feature just kills your performance. I dropped from something like 180FPS to 11FPS when testing this in a game before I got my new GTX.

bro your CPU + RAMs are way too OLD & SLOW for your VGA CARD . you are definitely being bottlenecked .

so upgrade your ram to 8GB ddr3 1333mhz + Strong Quad Core cpu like i5 3470

lowering your res & graphic settings will put more load on your CPU & your GPU will be useless & when you rise your graphic settings your GPU needs a strong cpu to push the LOAD , there is no strong cpu so VGA cant push the load .

SIMPLY : your graphic is not working at its full potential . it is only possible with strong CPU + ram

second , dont maxout the game . turn off DX11 Tess . turn off the SSAA . set quality to high . turn off the PHYSX too . SSAA & PHYSX just kill your performance . set your resolution to MAXIMUM !

Yea it was the advanced physics feature. It's under general game settings so I overlooked it. As photon boy stated it's optimized for Nvidia and I'm running AMD. Turned it off and put all settings back on max and was running 40-75 FPS no problems, lol.
