HD 7990 vs Gtx 780/780ti

Hey,
So there's a sale on the 7990 when you buy a new computer that essentially put the 7990 in the 780 price range, actually about 50$ less.
I'm wondering if I should take the 7990 or the gigabyte 780 windforce 3x oc
Or wait for the 780ti and take

Personally I say neither. The best performing (single) card right now is the AMD R9 290X. It's more powerful than a GTX Titan, and it costs $550 - $600. So of course it easily beats the GTX 780, which is why you may have noticed the GTX 780 dropped from $650 to about $500.

The HD 7990 technically outperforms both the GTX 780 and the R9 290X, but it's a dual graphics card. It's basically two other GPUs put into CrossFire and fitted onto one card. CrossFire has its share of issues though, so I recommend you stick with a single-card solution if possible, so the GTX Titan, R9 290X, GTX 780 Ti, or the GTX 780. But like I said, as of right now the absolute best and clear winner is clearly the R9 290X, so go for that...

The 780ti is going to cost about $700 when it comes out.
AMD is releasing the R9 290 (non X) soon, is going meet or beat the 780 and costs less.

Check the price of a R9 290X there. If it's about the price of a 780, get the 290X instead.

Between the 7990 and 780, I'd pick the 780 because I prefer consistent performance and don't want problems with older games and Crossfire.

I thought about taking the 290x but it's been two weeks now since it's been released and still no custom versions and there is no way I'm taking the reference version, it runs so hot and he's very loud, and when it hit some point(when he's under stress) it starts loosing clock speed
I'm going to wait for the 780ti but If by the time he's out there is no non reference 290x ill just go for the 780ti
Depending on the price ofc
