speaking about CPU alone: depending on the frequency you provided (2.53Ghz) you CPU is Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9400, and ir supports Up to 8 GB 667/800 MHz DDR2 or 800/1066 MHz DDR3 SODIMM system memory.
if you tell me about your mobo, we can see the Maximum Memory Supported by your mobo.

thank u very much for giving me brief details...im a vfx student and using multimedia applications in my pc... now my pc is not working as much as speed i want.. some times my pc slow down and get stucked.. so i want to speed up my pc to avoid slowdon and stucking situations... so i want to install 8gb ram in my pc... u said my board has max 4gb ram capability... so what should i do now.. i bought this pc in 2008..

well, i wouldn't suggest upgrades now, unless you have enough money ready to be spent on a new PC, upgrade the rams for now.
upgrading the CPU will require upgrading the Mobo and possibly the PSU too.
