I have an Athlon x4 760k. It is not overclocked. With the stock cooler, it idled at 53c. I got a Cooler Master Hyper TX3, Used Arctic Silver 5, now it idles at 40c and at load gets to about 75c. Is this normal for an aftermarket cooler?

Solution
Lots of others inc myself would say this is wrong, after refitting my cooler, lots of head scatching and reading even poking my mobo with my finger to feel for the 90degc I decided to trust core temp. Theres amd emails posted on oc.net and in them they also say to judge by core temp. Just ignore the zero degrees at the start, zero means its not hot enough to give a proper reading.

Coretemp doesn't even detect the processor though

I found the problem. When i open HWMonitor, load temps on all programs jump to 75c. When I close it, they go back down to 60c at full load. Thank you all for responding so quickly.
