Oops, sorry! I must have made a mistake when posting. Here is my original post:

Hi, everyone. Ok, so I put in a 2nd hdd in my toshiba L21 using an Optical Bay HDD Caddy. I can't see it if I boot up with the caddy connected.

It's really weird; if I boot with it connected the first thing I see is CD ROM ERROR and then Windows 7 loads normally. Once I'm in windows, no trace of the 2nd drive. In fact, the Intel software says that internal port 1 is empty.

If I disconnect the caddy and re-connect it's the same; no trace of it either in Computer, Device Manager or Disk Management. However, if I disconnect, re-boot and THEN re-connect (in Windows), the Auto-Play window pops up asking what I want to do.

It's the weirdest thing! I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Solution
No what I meant was an internal HDD caddy for the second HDD. You can have both HDD's fitted internally with the help of right HDD caddy. Look for it online. Good luck.

Do you mean an external HDD caddy? If so, I've tried and it works fine. I just really wanted two internal disks, though. I guess I'll take it back to the shop. Thanks for your help!
