I need help choosing a graphics card...

There are so many choices on the market for graphics cards. I want to get one good card because I will be running one monitor, MAYBE 2 in the future. I cant make up my mind so maybe you guys can help with suggestions and stuff. I have been looking a lot at the 760's but now I think with my budget I might be able to get something better. I have no idea whether to go AMD or nVidia. I play games like TF2, Minecraft, Simulators (trucking and flight), GRID 2, racing games in general.

My budget for a card is $400

The Asus GTX770 DC2U or MSI TF, or EVGA version.

Great cards for about $330 and come with three great games:
1) Batman Arkham Origins
2) Splintercell Blacklist
3) AC4 Black Flag

I dont know what to make of it. I have read a lot and it seems the R9 280X performs better for the price, but most games are for nVidia these days.
I was thinking of the MSI or the Asus for the R9 280X
I was thinking of the MSI or the Asus aswell for the GTX 770
My only problem is that most games seem to be made for nVidia right now. Am I going to be missing anything if I choose AMD? I dont know what to do.

How I wish there were a card to fill the empty void between the $350-$500 price range. Maybe the R9 290 will be the one.

For $400 it's between the GTX 770 and R9 280X. The games you mentioned are not demanding enough to single out a better card.
Perhaps list what other activities you do on your PC.

If you do video streaming, recording and encoding then the GTX is better suited for that. You also get 3 games free with it.

On the other hand If you are playing on very high resolutions (beyond 1080p) thats AMD's forte. If you want to save on cost the 280X would be at least $30 cheaper.

Edit: I nearly forgot the HD 7970 is basically an older 280X that performs practically the same. It comes with 3 free games too :) Either choice is good value for money

I do video editing and streaming as well as video recording. When I put that card in a new PC I will be using a capture card though. The R9 280X seems to perform better than the 770 price wise. They are very close and the R9 280X is cheaper.
