Hey folks,

I am trying to install an ASUS P7P55D. I previously had the exact same MOBO, and it was on its last legs, so I bought the exact same MOBO again.

The last state of the machine was that it was failing to boot due to problems with USB over current.

Installed the new MOBO, plugged everything back in the way it was, and turned it on.

I get power; the fans spin, the LEDs are on, but the machine never beeps or gets to the BIOS at all. (Again, this is different from the problems I was having with the previous MOBO. I could always get to the BIOS before.)

The manually helpfully tells me to check the jumpers, only I didn't touch any jumpers. They are all set up the exact same way that it was working with the previous MOBO.

Suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this?

Even though there were no LEDs indicating memory problems, I tried removing and swapping out the memory chips (I have two. Tried with just one, with each chip separately.) No difference.

Any ideas would be welcomed.

OK, so, I believe that I already have such a speaker attached. There is a thing just like what you linked, and it is attached to the motherboard in the speaker spot...

When you say disconnect everything but the CPU and CPU fan, do you mean EVERYTHING? The memory, the video card, all of the usb and sata connectors, etc.?
