Did i mess up my Gpu?

I have a sli setup with two msi 660ti pe.

Long story short I forgot to change my fan profiles and the top one got up to 87c while gaming. Prob for 20 min or so. Don't know if it was max temp the whole time or not.

So did I mess up big or should I be ok?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Your card is fine.

87c will effect any boost clock ability, but not damage the card.

Its more than likely alright,Just readjust the fan profiles and get the top card to max around 80c under load to be safe.

they throttle at 95 or 105 depending on model, so 87 is fine.

Thanks guys, my air circulation is actually pretty good in my case I get about 73c on load for the top card under normal circumstances. I had it set to 40% though and forgot.

Set afterburner to start with your system. This will keep the settings on each boot.

sometime the software refused to speed mine up, and they'd hit 105 (gtx470) sat at 30%, did it a few times only figured it out when I understood what was making the noise and the throttled performance. no damage though.

Got an X1900 over 118c(for hours) and it did not even care. The fan control software(ATI tool iirc. It was actually in use to set 3d clocks for Windowed games. It was not supposed to mess with the fan at all) had messed up and shut the fan off. Since it had an Accelero X2 I just connected the fan to my power supply after(it did not even add any noise to the system).

So far, Afterburner has worked great for me.

its precision i've had trouble with, I found some games wouldn't run with afterburner running so I had to ditch that.

Does it have an option to start with Windows? I am almost sure it is also based on Riva?

I wasn't expecting precision to be any better, as I thought it was also a reskinned riva like afterburner. In the cases where the fans didn't spin up beyond 30% there was a windows error msg which I ignored, started precision and then it failed to control the fans. Only happened maybe 3 times.

I use the on screen display, but I think I will keep an even closer eye on it now.

Yea I've been using hardware monitor and msi. I've just never seen my card get anywhere close to 87 and I tend to overthing things.

Well, you have done no damage(Nvidia specs something line 97c MAX). no worries.
