Hi, I would like some help from you guys. I am looking to get a new desktop as my current laptop is extremely slow. I plan to save money by building it myself, but still have a long way to save so I'm open to changes.

I would like to know if these parts are
1. Compatible,
2. Good for gaming (medium-high settings preferably)

I also have some peripherals in mind such as the Razer Black Widow Tournament edition but again am open to suggestions. Thank you for any answers, they are much appreciated.

No problem:D just making the list now, will edit this comment with the link when im done

EDIT: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1WTiY --- I know it's actually nearly £800, but at the time some of the stuff was on sale. But you would get away with a cheaper CPU and stick with the 7870 and it would run great :)

What is your budget? I would go for an i5 4670 or 3570 for that price, and spend a bit more on the mobo. And to save some money, I'd get a Micro ATX case and put that money towards something else, maybe CPU or graphics card, but that's down to you :) It all looks compatible though, I have the same RAM that you have on the list. And it's a solid graphics card.

Around £600-£700, and what motherboard would be an improvement on the current one?

By the way, I don't think I would have the heart to change the case, it's my personal favourite :)

It is a very nice case... It all depends on what CPU you get. I think you should get a better CPU, probably the i5 3570, so as long as you get a motherboard that has can fit everything in then it should be fine :)
My budget was just over £700, I could link you to my build if you wanted to compare?
