8gb or 16gb?

I have been playing battlefield 4 alot with my friend. I have a higher spec pc than him (Not by much) But it is still better. The only difference is the RAM. I have 8, he has 16. On bf4, I have been having fps issues but he hasnt. IS the 8gb Ram difference really giving 25-35 fps boosts?

The RAM is not the issue. 8 GB RAM is perfectly fine for running BF4 unless you have tons of stuff running in the background.

If you really have a better-specced system than your friend, then the most likely cause of the FPS difference is display drivers (again, assuming that you are not just running a bunch of programs in the background). What are your exact specs, what settings do you play at, what kind of FPS are you getting, and what drivers are you using?

8gb corsair vengeance
1tb hdd
750w power supply
Gtx 770 2gb
I have had all the lastest nvidia drivers installed and i only have razer comms, origin and steam in the background.

Oh and i have all the settings on high. with 100% resolution scale. My friends got everything on ultra.
i get around 45fps and he gets 60+

What DRAM do the two of you have? and we can look at that (model #s), but if you have stuff in the background running it's taking away from your 8GB and BF$ recommends 8GB so that will cause some loss, imagine you have more in background from startup, might check MSCONFIG to see what all is loading

Had to sign up to answer this as Ive seen people with similar beastly setups who get less than desirable performance in bf4. This page will help you.

Unpark your cores using regedit (how to do that is in the link) and then make a config file in your bf4 folder and set RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit to 2, (info to do that is also in the link, just scroll down a bit). That should help you.
