I recently installed my asus geforce gtx 780 into my msi 970a-g46 mobo and it gets stuck at black screen and a b2 in bottom right corner during startup. It does not enter bios at all. Does not enter windows. I have already updated my PSU to a corsair 850 watt gold edition. I have never flashed my bios before, could it be because my new card cant be read on my mobo or bios needs to be flashed. I put my old video card in at the moment Gigabyte geforce gtx 550ti and it works perfectly.

A list of what I have:

Mobo: MSI 970a-g46
CPU-AMD FX8120 with Antec Khuler 920
RAM: 16gb Patriot Sector 5 1066mhz (4x4)
PSU: RM850 Corsair
SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 128gb
HDD: Seagate 750gb 7200 rpm

Well my asus geforce gtx780 has a 8(2x4) and 6 (3x3) pin power connections. I was told that I have plug both of those connections. So my psu has a single cable that runs the power pci express this has 2 (6 hole +2 detached =8 for one connectors). Since there is 2 of the 8 hole power connectors on the single power cable from my psu, I used 1 connector with all 8 (6+2 power connection) to fit on the 1st connection of my gpu and I plugged in 6 minus the detached 2 on the cable (2nd connection) for the 6 power connection on my gpu. Not sure if that made much sense. Please advise if I need to clarify.

Oh and Im not using an adapter for the GPU to screen. Straight HDMI cord. There is video because the B2 pops up in the bottom right corner but it doesnt go into bios load at all or windows loading screen.

So I managed to get my Geforce GTX 780 running. I put in my old video card and I went to MSI website and downloaded LiveUpdate to make sure all my mobo drivers were current. Mobo bios was out of date so I flashed it. After I flashed and I reset my computer I ran into 1 hurdle, Windows was not booting it would get past the bios load screen but when the windows logo popped up it would crash.
I managed to fix that too. tho.
I remembered that my ssd mode originally was running in IDE in my bios configuration during my first install of my SSD, and since I flashed my bios, my settings were set back. So I configured my ssd to achi mode and it worked. Windows 7 started booting again.
After installation of all the other drivers that I haven't installed through msi live update and restarted it again, I placed my gpu in and it is up and running. Hopefully this helps someone in the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
