My laptop Gateway 52213u series has no fingerprint reader. Is that the same as saying it does not have touchscreen? Or is the fingerprint reader a security device? All the tutorials show swiping, and I cannot swipe.

Finger print readers are completely different from touchscreens. This would be an example of a finger print reader security device on a laptop (a Lenovo system in this case)

Whereas a touchscreen is an interface or input type used by modern tablet computers like the Nexus 7 or iPad.

Then maybe it is a touchscreen but I just don't know how to activate it.
