Was doing some video work and the screen froze then went off, turned off and on again and nothing, no beeps. So i opened the pc and smelled burning.

When i press the power button, the fans come on (CPU, Graphics card and case fans) and the two lights on the front come on, but and it sounds like normal, but nothing happens...

I have tried:

1) opened and clean PC - no boot no beeps
2) Removed extra HDDs = same
3) Removed graphics card = same
4) removed Graphics card and HDD = same
5) Removed Graphics, HDD and RAM, so just the CPU, Motherboard and PSU = Still nothing

Over time the smell of burning is starting to drop but still no on board beeping, any ideas?

Windows 7 64 bit 2.4ghz Quad core 6600 Asus P5n-e sli 4gb ram
I know its a old machine, but really dont want it to force my hand in a upgrade, cannot afford it just yet...

Could this still be the PSU?
