I have been saving up for a computer for some time now. I have about $1500. Is black friday or cyber monday really the cheapest time of the year to build a computer? To get the biggest bang for your buck? I've heard mixed answers, and really am just looking for a straight up answer if anyone knows. Thanks!

There is no straight up answer. You may find an exceptional deal on a component or two on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. You may not. There's no way of knowing if any of the deals offered are going to be for parts you want or if the deals offered are any better that any other deal offered throughout the year.
My take has always been, purchase components when you can afford them all. If you find a deal at that time, great! If not, well it's still all paid for.
