Hello to everyone,

I want to buy a 320 gb samsung ( from what i have read, they are the best after the intels ones ) ssd drive but before i do that, i want to know 2 things

[1] would the effect on the lifetime of the ssd be the same whether you are transfering 1 gb or 20 gb in the same session?.

[2] would searching content in pdf files return results quicker if they are on an ssd?

Does anyone here have any experience with the above that can give me some helpful answers?

Spooky thank you for the link to stretch the life of an SSD

I will only be using this ssd for storing pdf files. and the reason i am getting an SSD to store these files is because i want better search result times. i have maybe 10,000 pdf files and i regularly search through them using the inbuilt search function of the adobe to search within other pdf files.

I do not care if anything else speeds up, but as far as the search results from the search goes ( through the inbuilt pdf search function ), will i get my results faster ( which is what matters to me the most )?
