Installed a new MSI twin frozr 280x Friday, and it intermittently won't complete post. I can 'fix' it by removing and refitting the card sometimes. Once it works it works great been playing bf4 most of the day. Went out and came back a few hours later and now when I power the PC up all fans and lights work but no post beep. This has been happening on and off all weekend.

Is the card toast? PSU is antec earthwatts 650w, mobo is MSI p67-g45

try another psu... or someone else's computer. lets make sure it's the gpu. sounds like it could be one of 3 things... the gpu, the psu or the motherboard. i had a similar problem and it was caused by a power short from a loose wire on one of my molex plugs plugged into a completely separate device. It caused an intermittent power fluctuation on the 12V rail, which of course make my gpu not work from time to time.

check all your wires too while you're at it... any wire that moves easily (particularly any wire in a plug with a yellow wire (yellow is 12V) might be causing a short.

Hi thanks for the reply, I will check the rest of the plugs when I get home later. Unfortunately I don't have another pc or psu to try.
Im thinking that it must be a power problem as my old 6950 used 2x6 power connectors and the 280x uses a 6 and 6+2. My old card works fine still.
What exactly should I look for in the other plugs?

i just pinch the wires near the molex plug and move my thumb and finger, and see if any of the wires are loose. they shouldn't twist in your fingers. any loose wire is potentially causing a short.

you're gonna want to test the card in another machine before you buy another psu, we need to make sure it's not DOA first.
