An nvidia graphics card was not detected in your system

After restoring my alienware m17x r3 to factory settings. I realized that the nvidia card was not being deteced. I looked in my device manager and couldn't find gtx 460m in display adapters. I don't know what to do. Sometimes i used to get blue screens with weird errors.
windows7 home premium 64 bit
intel(r) core(tm) i7 2630qm 2.0ghz (2.8ghz turbo mode, 6mb cache)
currently i think i am running on intel hd grpahics family?
i don't know what to do! i need help!

Nvidia install says Install cannot continue
this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware

i found a driver vbios update. But when i installed it from dell, it has a read me. Then says vbios update cannot be performed within windowsl to complete this process, you must boot this cd... but obviously i don't have a cd?
