My computer is shutting down on one game...

So Recently I built this computer:

  • Amd 8350 @ 4 GHZ (Stock cooler)
    Gigabyte 280x (Origionally used a 7790)
    Corsair CX 600 PSU
    MSI 970a-g43 MoBo
    Nzxt Source 210
    LG disk drive
    Wester Digital HD

So I'm playing BF4 multiplayer with everything cranked up on ultra. The match ends and new games is about to begin when all of the sudden my computer shuts down while the map is loading. So I flip off the PSU switch for a few minutes and then back on and and restarted the computer, launched the game and began playing. Everything worked fine, I dominated the enemy team, and then when the game tried to load the next map it shut down again. So it seems that the computer shuts down only when the game tries to load a new map. I've played many other games on this computer and this is the first one that actually caused my computer to shut down somehow.

I think this may be due to either the PSU not having enough power, or the CPU overheating with the piece of junk stock cooler. Please help this newbie out in figuring out why his computer is in distress. Thanks in advance

After you play your next game on ultra, before you load a new map, alt tab out and see what your core temps read. Also check your GPU temp as well.
I use RealTemp for my CPU:

For my GPU, I use:

Ok so for my temps I used MSI Afterburner and CoreTemp. My results are:

GPU - max temp reached 66 degrees

CPU - Temp was at 47 degrees max

right after I got out of the game I saw these temps for a few seconds and then my computer shut down... again... Another thing I would like to note is that it will try to come back on right after the shut down but the fans will only spin for about a half a sec and then nothing. I usually have to wait a little bit until I can actually turn it back on.

These temps are really good so I guess next step is the PSU?

Edit: I'm running OCCT atm and the cpu temp hasn't went over 55 degrees.

Well I ended up applying for a return on the PSU through Amazon, and I bought a Seasonic 1050 watt gold certified power supply x-series off Newegg. I know its overkill but hey I'll eventually upgrade anyways. I'll keep this thread updated with how my computer responds.
