My mATX build:
> Case: Apevia Qpack2
> Mobo: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35
> CPU: AMD A10-5800k
> RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR3 1866 Mhz Ballistix Tracer
> SSD: ADATA SX900 256GB
> PSU: (500w included w/ Apevia Qpack2)
> GPU: MSI TwinFrozr Radeon 7850

Hi guise! Hope you can help me out with my problem :)
When I power on my PC, it turns on but nothing is posted on my TV (connected thru HDMI). The power LED is on, the temp readouts on the front panel are showing, my RAM LED lights are on (but not moving up and down as usual). My CPU fan isn't spinning though. Nothing is plugged into the USB ports. I have tried plugging in my HDMI thru both the GPU and the motherboard itself to no avail. I tried clearing the CMOS, I even changed the coin battery to a new one. I tried reseating the RAM, even switching them around. Everything is plugged in correctly, 4-pin CPU and 24 power supply etc... I don't know if this is also helpful but when I tried to power off by holding the power button, it doesn't shut off. I have to use the button on the power supply to power off. Anyways, could it be the motherboard? I was thinking this would be the most likely problem. But I think it could also be the CPU since the CPU fan isn't spinning.. Any help/insight would be much appreciated!

Here are two pictures of what is going on when I power it on:

Hello,

Are the rest of your case fans running or are they off similar to your CPU fan? Are you getting any type of beep error through the motherboard or is it simply a blank screen on power up? Also it is always a good idea to re-seat all the front panel connections.

Nope none of the case fans are running either. No beeps and just a blank screen. I reseated everything. I actually plugged everything off because I was thinking of replacing the mobo but tried plugging everything back in just recently.

OK, are your case fans plugged into the fan headers on the board, or are then directly plugged into your molex power from the supply? Sounds like it may be motherboard especially if you already double checked the 24-pin power. Usually if it was something other than MB you'd get a notification that something else was the cause. MSI is a good company I would contact their tech support, they would have specific things for you to try based on your specific motherboard. Nothing else comes to mind other than your PSU, but if your RAM is lighting up that would indicate that power is on.

They are directly plugged into the PSU. Hmm yeah maybe I should contact MSI tech support.. :/

Might want to check the PSU as well.

That could also be the issue? Is it because the case fans aren't running? Is that an indicator? Even if the other things such as the RAM LEDs, the temp sensors screen, etc are on?

How do I test the PSU?

Yes it could be. What PSU are you currently running (brand and wattage)? The PSU may only be giving partial power, which would be dangerous to the rest of your components.

Easiest way to find out would be to maybe borrow a friends PSU and hook everything up. Otherwise if you have a multimeter tool you could check and and make sure that your PSU is putting out the proper power based on what the sticker says it will output.
