Are there any i5/i7/FX processors that will bottleneck a GTX 690?

Completely theoretical scenario, I wish it wasn't...
Reason for is because I've heard before that it is EXTREMELY rare that a CPU bottlenecks a GPU.

Solution
i5/i7 4th gen CPUs (as per my usage) do not bottleneck a 690 or 2x 680s... for intel 4th gen processors the best buy would be Intel Core i5-4670k... If you don't want to overclock your CPU ever... then go with Intel Core i5-4670 .... As per me intel 4th gen are far way better than FX...
well speaking of high end parts where both are high end then yes rare. But i know for sure that my 2.8ghz stock x6 bottlenecks my 7970, a 480, and 5850. Also my friends stock 3.0ghz x4 945 bottlenecks the 480 and 5850. And yes im pretty sure since u not being specific on ur question there is at least somewhere or at least one of the i5/i7/fx line of cpus whether it be a first gen or fourth gen cpu that will surely bottleneck a 690 or two 680s

FX processors are just waste(personal experience) ... If you are getting i5/i7 processor then go with 4th generation(Haswell) i5/i7... It gives you good performance and physics... While FX processors are just piece of crap... Never get those FX processors...AMD FX 9xxx processors are the one I have less info right now...

FX 63xx and 83xx are not worth buy... I have used those and they bottleneck good GPUs... They give poor physics... They are cheap and have high clock speeds... Just that...Nothing that... For gaming I prefer to get Intel i5/i7 4th generation processors...

Again, the FX 63xx and 83xx cpus are NOT crap. They offer MORE overall performance than whatever Intel offers at that same price point.
Intel still wins out in single thread performance though, and AMD does NOT make a cpu that performs on the level of ANY current i7 or an overclocked i5.

But that does not automatically make them crap.

AMD FX processors offer less physics performance but more clock speed....AMD FX processors are good but poor in single threaded performance...
Intel has good single thread performance but a little less clock speed than AMD offers.. But still whenever Intel overclocked gives Very good clock speed...

One thing Intel is on back side.. that is its stock cooler... AMD's stock cooler are far better than intel as when AMD are overclocked its cooler are capable of handling it.. while Intel's cooler are not...

Sorry, I wasn't specific, I'm not very familiar with AMD CPU's.

Lol... yea @lazyboy & @CTurbo It always does... But still both have their pros and cons... Both are in someway good... AMD's some processor are good in everything & some are good in some and bad in some.... Same with Intel... But at overclocking still AMD wins... Overclocking with AMD processor is very easy... While if you want to overclock an Intel processor then you have to open up your wallet and spend some more for "k" version... as K versions are unlocked while non k are locked... :p That's where Intel is back from AMD....

PS: I sometimes see some AMD's overclocking gamers event... And after seeing that I am just like "Wow ! AMD is very good at overclocking..." AMD processors do well in overclocking... I just have one demand with AMD that if they launch a processor with good clock speed and a good PHYSICS performance....

The sad part about AMD's GREAT overclocking is, their "4.0ghz" stock speed is less than Intel's 3.0ghz clock speed so you're overclocking the AMD to 4.5-5ghz just to try to keep up with Intel's 3.4-3.6. So when you get an Intel that does 4.0ghz, AMD has nothing that can touch it.

AMD is very competitive under $200, but Intel owns $200+ dollar range
