Are BF4 crashes normal or problematic hardware?

I haven't played too much of BF4 yet, but I have played a few hours today. I'll get the occasional freeze/crash during multiplayer and will have to restart my computer. Is this normal ? Anyone else having these issues.

I've downloaded all the latest drivers. My rig is:

intel i5 3500k
8GB Ram
1TB WD Black
2GB GTX 760

Running on optimized settings based on Geforce experience. Which is Ultra, 4x msaa, 1080P, etc. etc.

I have the same problems, though they are practically gone for me by now.

So you had those problems, and now they're gone? What did you do to make the crashing stop?

Heh I'm asking cause I'm planning to build my first PC with the capacity of running BF4 on high/ultra.

There is a memory leak that causes non-paged pool memory to fill up. You won't see what process is doing it in task manager. It doesn't matter if you have 4, 8 or 16gb ram, eventually it will fill up, freeze the game and require a reboot to free up the ram. Even if you manage to quit the game before it freezes, the memory remains where it was and the very next time you join a server, you'll freeze forcing a reboot.

To prevent it, quitting the server each round and rejoining works for a while, but once the mem leak starts, it's too late.

They have fixed many issues, such as DirectX crashes and such, but the memory leak is still there and other CTD problems. I've tried every imaginable work around.....it only prolongs gameplay for a while longer.

I have Vista and Win 8.1 (dual boot), both 64 bit. The mem leak doesn't occur in the Vista install, but since AMD no longer supports vista, the game will crash as the drivers are from April.

We'll all just have to wait until things are fixed. Nobody knows for sure what is causing the mem leak. Some say AMD drivers, but nVidia users are having the same problem. 6xxx series video cards seem to be the most problematic on the mem leak issue, or there may be a lot of 6xxx users out there. Right now it's anybody's guess.

One thing for certain; EA better get their act together and fix it.
