A choice between MSI gtx 780 Lightning or Zotac gtx 780 amp!

I get to choose between these 2 cards. Msi is priced 130$ more than the zotac card.

I want to know what does the MSI card have/give that the Zotac doesnt?

First of all, I wont ever be overclocking the cards.

I'm running this on a

Corsair Obsidian 350d with :

2x Noctua A14 Flx / Intake
NZXT kraken x60 / exhaust
Stock rear fan / exhaust

So pretty much the card will et direct airflow.

The Zotac amp! is slightly higher clocked than the MSI card.

For me noise isn't an issue. But temperature is.

The case I'm running in, Will I get either cards to run <70C on load?

I've seen reviews and the Zotac would run at 79C and MSI at 75C

But on other reviews the MSI would run at 64C while the Zotac at 67C

Why is that? Is it because they do not set the fans to higher speeds during the review?

Any info is appreciated

"The case I'm running in, Will I get either cards to run <70C on load?"
You can manipulate the fans\power to get any temp you want, within reason. Though it wouldn't be an issue assuming you vent it properly.
"I want to know what does the MSI card have/give that the Zotac doesnt?"
Custom board, greater ability to adjust the voltage, etc.
"First of all, I wont ever be overclocking the cards."
Then you definitely don't want the lightning, as you're paying a premium for its overclocking ability. Actually you probably don't want either of these, I would go with theEVGA GeForce GTX 780 Dual FTW. Pretty decent clock and runs very quiet and cool.

My country doesn't sell EVGA cards sadly. When you say
"You can manipulate the fans\power to get any temp you want"
Do you mean to lower the clock speed? Will I be able to get it below 70c without lowering clock speed? Or is running at 79c perfectly fine?

i was debating about getting a zotac AMP GTX 680 several months back to complement my EVGA GTX 680 SC. and i kept reading about zotac not creating their boost clock tables correctly and that resulted in significantly worse game performance. i don't know if this is the case with the 780, but it is worth looking into benchmark comparisons between the two.

having said that, you really can't go wrong with the lightning.

Running at 79 would be perfectly fine yes. But yes you can always turn up the fans, and if you *really* want it to run cooler and the fans are at max, you can slightly underclock it.

Will running fans at 80-100% kill the fans?

The zotac does much better temperature wise

But I don't understand why they get 57c on this review while others about 79c?

Or this, which shows 67c full load.

It shouldn't. I mean, technically yes I assume they would not last as long running at 100% as running at say 60%, but typically these things are rated to last years of continual use. And of course, they can be replaced.
Regarding temps, it is best to not look at their absolute values, and rather look at them in comparison to what the other cards get, since different tests are going to result in different temps, even if the GPU load is the same. As an example, my card I am currently running right now is at 75C under 100% load, but I could find a test which would crank that up a good 10-15C if I wanted.
Incidentally, why are you so concerned with the temps? If you aren't overclocking it?

Paranoid. haha

Had my last card die due to high temps.

But final conclusion. What do you think I should get?

The Zotac amp! or msi gaming? They're pretty much the same price.

Zotac comes with 2years local + 3 years extended from manufacturer

While the MSI card just comes with 3 years local.

Right now, the zotac is clocked slightly higher than the MSI and I could definitely run any card <75C in my case.

Which should I get. MSI is 10$ more expensive. thanks :D

That was my first suggestion but he said he is unable to purchase evga cards in his country.

generally msi lightnings as the asics cream of the crop and usually are well above 80% rating which generally means the silicon chip(gk110 in this case) is an overclocker. when it comes to waterblocked voltmod overclocking and your not being supplied with gpus by the manufacture... msi lightnings are choice for hitting the highest of overclocks. basically, if you dont plan on shooting for the moon on an overclock, the msi lightning is slightly overkill, but you can always get lucky.
