Thanks Home Brew and Sheag123. If I am willing to give up the G.Skill brand name, I can get everything at my neighborhood store. I wonder whether to get the Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB DDR3-1866 (PC3-15000) CL9 Desktop Memory Kit (Two 8GB Memory Modules) for $180 or the Corsair Vengeance Series 16GB DDR3-1866 (PC3-15000) CL10 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 8GB Memory Modules for $190 instead. Also, I think I should substitute the Ultra Plus SDSSDHP-256G-G2 256GB SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) for $170 for the Crucial M500. It seems to do better at http://ssd-comparison.whoratesit.com/Compare/SanDisk-Ultra-Plus-256GB-vs-SanDisk-Extreme-II-240GB/1511vs1545. What do you think?

either ram will be fine for you and ya getting the better ssd definitely wouldn't hurt. you're on the right track and i dont see anything that conflicts in your build. :) dont forget to choose the best solution and send me a pm if you have any other questions.

Well, folks, the computer is built and is running the academic version of Windows 7.0 Pro 64-bit SP1, which looks fine. I am delighted by the progress made; however, I am yet connected to the internet. I get a Code 28 (missing driver) error for ethernet controller, which is the way I am now connected to the Uverse 2Wire gateway. First of all, I am no longer absolutely sure that the Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2 motherboard has an ethernet controller and I can't seem to find a driver for it on the Asus website. What should I do next?

Thanks, Sheag. Do you have any advice on how to transfer the contents of the 2TB HDD to the 250GB SSD?
