Hello all, a small query regarding a new gaming display I'd like to set up.

Looking to buy two more LG Flatron W2242S monitors (VGA input only) to match the one I currently have; for a triple monitor gaming setup. My question to you is with my AMD Radeon 6850 (1Gb) GPU, can I run:

Output 1: DVI (using DVI to VGA adapter)
Output 2: DVI (using DVI to VGA adapter)
Output 3: Display port (via display port to VGA adapter)

Or should I incorporate the hdmi instead of one of the above? I'm trying to manipulate the setup around the availability of these monitors at a cheap price. However, if there are going to be compatibility issues, problems, or any performance issues then I'll have to rethink my monitor choices.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot!

G.

Specs:

AMD Phenom 960T x4 @ 3GHz
ASUS M5a97 PRO mobo
AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5

The main reasoning I'd like a three monitor setup is to run FSX through AMD's eyefinity. Whilst reading into this, the general consensus is that FSX is more CPU hungry than GPU... I'm running overclocked at 3.8GHz which I think is more than adequate?

Although this guy's spec is a lot better than mine, his GPU is only one model up (I think) with the same VRAM capabilities?

Thanks again!

Have you checked the one model up differences.... the XX50's and the XX70's usually have nearly half of the next series coming in difference..... you can skip the next XX series if you were to buy a XX70 model.... whereas if you buy a XX50 model then you need to jump the whole next XXXX series to be able to afford the next XX50 model....
