i oced my core i5 750 from stock to 3.8.

Im now stress testing it with prime95 (small fft) and the temperatures are now (75,73,70,73).

Idle are (45,41,43,42).

Is everything safe in terms of temperatures ?

Whats the maximum safest temperature one can get on an overclocked cpu because i was going to try and raise to 4.0ghz

I just changed my pc case yesterday , so yes it is clean. I got 2 side fans , 2 bottom fans , 1 200m top fan and 1 rear fan along with my cpu cooler. Yes , cable managment is quite nice for my first time building a pc from scratch. The temperatures i posted are when i was fully loading my cpu with prime95 test.

Atm temperatures are , 44,40,42,40.

Here's a shot of my cable managment. I took this 2 days ago , now i improved my cable management a little bit more.

have you checked your thermal paste recently?
that is an alright cooler.
if your thermal paste has dried up and become something like cement its time to reapply for sure.
do not try to check if you do not have extra paste of course. safety first.

do you plan to run full load all the time by the way?
or only fo rthe stress test?

Kinda only for the stress test. I barely play games like crisis , metro ,etc. Maybe once a week or less. And no, i didnt check the paste. That's the only thing i didnt check.

Definitely check your thermal paste, apply a newer coat (clean the old off of course), making sure to do it right. With Intel, the best seems to be a pea sized drop, and let the cooler spread it. Don't skimp and get cheap paste, get some Arctic silver or something for the extra 2 bucks.

i am so jelly of your case!

your temps will always run high on stress test. nothing to worry about as long as your running in the 40's during normal usage your good to go buddy.
if it were 75 while checking gmail, then we have an issue.

i want that case O_O

Haha i bought it last week. It's an awesome case. Looks super clean , great ventilation and super big. (http://i.pcworld.fr/1245283-cyberpower-cm-storm-stryker-mega-special-iv.jpg)

I just installed the 2 front fans on the side instead , 2 bottom fans , 1 top 200mm fan and 1 rear fan. White led fans + blue led fans. Its looking super clean !!

Dude, believe me , it is now much better than that photo. I re-arranged everything together and this is my very first time building everything from scratch. I just made a day figuring this and that. But i loved every second of it. I bought it for about 200-220 euros.

I also changd that vga i got in the photo (ati 5850) to the gtx 570 (dual fans) and im about to overclock it ! Will be thinking to go for SLI later on haha !

I would love a case as beautiful as that, but I've got 3 cats so it'd be dusty and bad looking within a day. Some rubbing alcohol and a soft (well, not rough) cloth will work nicely. I use a shamwow, yes I got suckered into buying one, but it cleans thermal paste off better than anything else. Well, other than a t-shirt. Just get a shirt and wipe it off with that, it won't scratch it but it has enough texture to take paste with it, preferably one you aren't wearing.

not bad. you did great! and its addicting, next you'll find yourself with any reason you can get, to get inside and tinker.
upgrade thise, another of that.
once you get that first fix in, you spend the rest of your days chasing that same high.

Thanks , i really appreciate ! i loved it :D now cables are much more clean and organised as i re arranged em y-day .

Yeah, like spy said, it gets addicting. You want to add SOMETHING to make it faster, look cooler, run cooler (temperature wise), sound quieter. I went as far to commission a friend of mine who's an artist to draw up a design to etch into my case window. I have spent ~$50 on LEDs. I just ordered a water cooler. I'm always working on overclocking it more. My computer is my child.

uhm
looking at your pictures im curious, what way do you have the fan blowing for that cooler? into, or out of the cooler?
if its blowing out, which it should be, you may consider turning it around, so the heat is blown towards the rear exhaust fan. that wil help your case temps.

Yes. I am not always checking on what to buy for my case. For now , i do not play alot , so i have moreeeee than enough . With my cpu almost running at 4.00 and a new vga.

It sounds really quiet too. I am now going to buy a very nice sticker for my case ( http://www.simarksupplies.com/ShowProduct.aspx/Product/P13784-Windowsticker-Wildcat-Black/Category/C89-Moddings )

Only things in my mind for now are a new bigger monitor (maybe 26inch) and some moddings for my case.

Some guy at the pc shop instaslled that cpu cooler for me back when i never installed anything in a pc. And when i had the old case , i had 2 side fans exactly near the cpu cooler , so thats maybe why he did install my cpu cooler this way.
