Is it possible to replace a laptop motherboard designed of 32-bits architecture with a 64 bits architecture?

Solution
The CPU is the limitation in architecture, not the motherboard. If your laptop motherboard is compatible with a 64bit CPU you can upgrade the CPU, if not your usually out of luck.
Laptops are notoriously hard to upgrade. My best advice is to check the manufacturer's website or support to see if a 64-bit cpu is an option for your laptop. Even if you can fine one the uses the same socket as your current one, there may not be a BIOS upgrade that will support the 64-bit processor.
