Is My Mobo Holding me back?

I am using a
FX 6300 3.5 Ghz CPU
XFX 750 Watt PSU
GTX 760 2gb GPU*replaced a xfx 7870 with the 760*
Mobo BIOSTAR a960g+
8GB DDR3

My fps has been boosted by 3 to 10 in games I play with the GTX 760, but video editing was faster with the xfx 7870. I do not OC the card or the CPU, as I know it would fry the mobo, but is my CPU or mobo bottlenecking my gpu?

I did a clean install of windows 7 64, and I still have fps issues in Planet Side 2, Arma 2 dayz mod, but I know dayz isnt optimized. Just trying to know what can I expect in terms of FPS with this set up? Thanks

I don't think your motherboard is a bottleneck, it's more of your processor. BUT, I don't think that processor would bottleneck you too much. I've heard that Planetside is really CPU dependent though. Most games are more gpu dependent than cpu dependent though. The motherboard mainly effects your ability to overclock.

Thanks, yeah I dont OC for that reason, this mobo would fry I fear. I thought the FX 6300 was decent when I bought it*around June. Guess Ill be forced to upgrade sometime sooner than I was hoping.

If you play a lot of online MMO games then a new CPU/Mobo would be a good idea. Also if you're into video editing/rendering, photoshop, and those sorts of things, then you'd want to upgrade. If you play games like Call of Duty and Civilization 5, etc. then you wouldn't really need to.
